Wurgabup Rifle Club is a well-developed rifle range with excellent facilities sitting among natural bushland near Badgebup, 25 kilometres east of Katanning.

Wurgabup offers long range target shooting over distances from 300 to 1000 yards Disciplines include 308 (7.62) target rifle (peep sights), F-standard and F-Open (scoped rifles).

The 50 metre SSAA (Sporting Shooters Association of Australia) range caters to rim fire rifle, pistol, clay target shooting and other approved firearm competition under the rules of the SSAA.  

Club competitions are held each Saturday, SSAA commencing at 12:30pm and long range target shooting commencing at 2pm. The competition season runs all year from August 1st to July 31st. Several open competition events and functions are held at the club throughout the season.

No matter how experienced an individual is; regardless of gender, race or physical ability, visitors are always welcome to attend on a Saturday afternoon and join in.  Members are always willing to provide equipment and assist visitors and new members through each step of safe use of firearms and competition procedures. 

Competitors gather in the club house to reflect on the success and failures of the day in a friendly social atmosphere. The club is well equipped with kitchen, fully licenced bar and ablution amenities.

Wurgabup Rifle Club Incorporated Objectives

(1)      To provide and maintain sporting and recreation amenities at the Wurgabup Rifle Range

(2)      To maximise the use of Wurgabup by the local community;

(3)      To encourage and support all current and future user groups to make use of the facilities;

(4)      To support volunteers to assist in the management and operation of Wurgabup.
